Staff

We have been in the business for many years and have accumulated a very strong, reliable, caring and knowledgeable staff. The staff attends workshops throughout the year to keep up on the latest styles and techniques. Here is our talented staff:

Miya Rollenhagen (owner): Miya has been instructing dance & gymnastics for 24 years. She is Safety Certified, holds her Meet Director’s Certification and is a member of USA Gymnastics. Her philosophy is to help surface creative abilities in all students so that they can discover their own creative processes and potential that can be used in everyday life. Miya is married and has 2 children.

Amy Allen: Amy is a recent graduate of Western Michigan University. She has been a member of our staff for approximately 5 years. Amy knows all areas of dance training and enjoys teaching Hip Hop.

Anna Alpert: Anna has been on our staff since 1977. Anna has a degree in education. Anna has been affiliated with the Miss Michigan and Miss Muskegon Ottawa Pageants. Anna has passed her Professional Intermediate Teachers Certificate in ballet. She also enjoys teaching character and ethnic dancing. Anna is married and has 3 children.

Phil Bishop: Phil is in his 32nd year of coaching gymnastics. He is Safety Certified and holds his Skill Evaluators Certificate through USA Gymnastics. Phil is the Head Coach of our competitive gymnastics team. He has had many state champions. Phil has one child.

Kalie Bishop:  Kalie joined our staff in 2005. She is a member of our Senior Company. Kalie is the reigning 4H Queen and Grand Champion of Talent. She enjoys her horses, signing and dancing.

Judy Bosma: Judy has been on staff since 1993. Judy has extensive training in ballet, tap & jazz. Her expertise is with our company school. Judy is a human resource manager for a local company in Whitehall. Judy is married and has 2 children.

Molly Bosma: Molly joined our staff in 2004. Molly is a member of our Senior Dance Company and is an accomplished dancer. She enjoys taching Hip Hop. Molly will be graduating from Mona Shores High School this year. Molly will be our "Matchgirl" this year.

Kim Brown:  Kim joined our staff in 2005 and is in charge of our Fun Meet Program.  Kim enjoys keeping busy and attending her children's sporting events. She is married and has 3 children.

Courtney Clark: She is a member of our Junior/Senior Dance Company and is an assistant teacher. Courtney is involved with DECCA in her school and is a state officer.

Courtney Doan:  We are thrilled to have Courtney back on our staff. She has finished college and is doing her student teaching this fall. Courtney was a former member of our company school and was our "Matchgirl" for a couple of years.

Kari Gordon: Kari started teaching dance at Cassell in 2004. She comes to us with a lot of high energy. She has been dancing for many years. She will be teaching at our North Muskegon facility. She has taught tap, jazz, ballet and hip hop. Her favorite form of dance is Hip Hop. She is married and has 1 daughter.

Heather Greene: Heather joined our staff in 2000. She was a competitive gymnast in high school and coach of the Mona Shores Gymnastics Team. Heather is also active in dance.

Jade Heaton: Jade has been a member of our competitive gymnastic team in the past. She joinied our staff in 2005 and has been working with our team program along with recreational gymnastics.

Julie Jolman: Julie started at Cassell in 1999. Julie has been active in Muskegon Civic Theater and choreographed and performed in many of Overbrook Dance Theaters Programs. She is married and has one son.

Melanie Morad: Melanie is new to our staff this year. She was a former dancer with us and is finishing up her degree at Hope College. We are excited to have her join us.

Torri Myers: She is a member of our Senior Dance Company. Torri is active in cheerleading and choir at her school.

Darci Reinink: Darci joined our staff in 2004. She has been active in dance for many years. Darci was active in the Miss Muskegon Pageant over the years as a contestant or principal dancer She is married and has 2 children.

Karolyn Rollenhagen: Karolyn is a retired secretary for the Reeths Puffer school system. She didn’t like being “retired” and has joined our desk staff in North Muskegon. She also happens to be Coach Miya’s Mother-In-Law.

Rachel Ross: This is Rachel’s 1st season with us. She has taken 2 of her Teachers Ballet exams and plans to take her third one this year. We are very excited to have her join us this year.

Hannah Saum:  Hannah started coaching under her mother's wing last year. Hannah is excited to be on staff and will be teaching the gymnastics in a lot of our combination classes along with recreational classes.

Zachary Saum: Zach joined our staff in 2005. He is an assistant coach in our boys program. Zach enjoys basketball and spending time with his 2 dogs.

Juliet Saum: Juliet joined our staff in 2000. She has worked in other gyms in Michigan before joining our staff. She is Safety Certified through USA Gymnastics. Juliet has a good approach to teaching. She is married and has 4 children.

Sarah Stewart: Sarah is a member of our Senior Dance Company . She has been dancing with us for a very long time. Sarah is the top student in her class and will graduate this year.

Patti Winsemius: Patti has been involved in dance for 20 years. She has high energy and creates some wonderful dance numbers. She has 3 children. She has been busy remodeling her house.

Leeann Yager: She is in charge of the front desk at the Devin Drive location. If you have a question, she has the answer. She is married and has 5 children.

Melissa Yager: Melissa became a member of our staff in 2003. Melissa has been a competitive gymnast and is a member of our Senior Dance Company.
